Does anybody know of specific stretching exercises to achieve this more comfortably?  And to go deeper?

I mean shoulder and back, the ass itself is stretched plenty.

Like you, I'd love to be able to do this.

One thing I've noticed in films on this site is how many of the men who can self-anal-fit are slender and long-limbed. I'm guessing that's a relevant pattern.

Just my experience.
I have a hard time getting a fist in because of the awkward positions starts to hurt my back, this is the main reason I have stopped doing it.
Not really worth the back pain the next few days.

yoga type stretching might help.

try using your other hand, i know its sound weird but i'm left handed but self fist with my right, i don't know about others but i find it alot easier and doesn't hurt my back

Update: on 10/19 I managed to fist myself for the first time. I did it a second time a week later, and again yesterday. Here's what I've learned:

1. Lots of lube and lots of stretching with large toys. Get good at opening yourself up.
2. Find a counter about butt-height and put something soft under your hand. Rest the hand on the counter and sit, grind, etc. Flex your hand too: four or five fingers in, then clench to make your hand bigger, then smaller. As you unclench and the hand gets smaller, grind to push it deeper.
3. Shift to standing, with your elbow against a wall. As with (2) make your body do most of the work, grinding back. This is the position where I've gotten the best penetration.

There's a great video on this site of a guy who manages to self-fist to the elbow. He's in a position like I describe doing in (3) above. (He was my inspiration, actually!)

It's been really exciting. My wife fists me, but her hands are much smaller than mine. We'd been working up to two hands lately, and that probably had a lot to do with me being in shape to take my own hand.

I found out all about the pains, the days after my second time.  Felt good ATM, woke up the next morning, only to find my back on the right side was sooo sore, lasted at least a good 3-4 days... :(
